Meet the Leaders

Ali Loaker
FOUNDER
Born in Cambridge, Ali became a Christian when he was 9 years old at a summer bible camp for young people. He accepted Jesus into his heart alone in a bell tent when his friends went for breakfast.
As he progressed into his teenage years, he began to drift away from God and sang in a punk band for a few years until one day, in his early twenties, he rededicated his life to God at a Christian camp (he loves those Christian camps!). This led to many years of serving in the local church as a worship leader and eventually attending Bible school and gaining accreditation.
Following bible school he served for the next 10 years in a new church plant as a pastor and worship leader before leaving to serve for 4 years in an established Elim church.
More recently he served as the worship director and pastor at My Church in Windsor under the leadership of Dr Sharon Stone. Ali has ministered in many denominations over the years including Brethren, Baptist, Methodist, Church of England, Pentecostal, Elim and New Frontiers and is best known for his prophetic style of worship leading.
At the beginning of 2022, Ali and his wife Ros felt called to leave the mainstream church and start house churches. This ministry is now known as Lighting Fires and is dedicated to the vision of birthing thousands of house churches across the UK and beyond.
Ali also has a vision to disciple and release others in prophetic worship. This vision is starting to be realised in a monthly worship gathering called Friday Fires where believers from many denominations come together to worship, pray, prophesy and give testimonies as the Holy Spirit leads.
It is Ali’s prayer that these monthly meetings will spread to other areas of the UK becoming burning beacons of God’s presence across the nation.

Ros Loaker
FOUNDER
Ros was born in St Neots in Cambridgeshire. She became a Christian at an early age and experienced church as an authentic family when the church she attended as a young girl planted out into a new area.
Many happy years full of great memories followed as she grew up around the church with a strong grounding in the word of God. She even set up a prayer triplet in a broom cupboard at senior school to pray with her newly saved friends. As a teenager Ros learnt how to serve in the church and played bass, piano and cornet in the worship team.
Ros’ early church experiences prepared her well for life. She spent a year on mission in India and led teams of young adults on mission in Bosnia. She would regularly share her faith with other students whilst at University in Manchester and witnessed some of her classmates coming to faith in Jesus.
Following University, Ros became the youth leader of 3 Anglican churches and spent 3 years disciplining the young people there. After a brief stint of travelling, she returned to serve in a New Frontiers church in St Neots and then a large evangelical church in Peterborough.
Ros has always been a natural evangelist and her heart has always been to see the kingdom of God released in the workplace. It comes as no surprise then that she is currently the CEO of a charity called Transform Work, a ministry that seeks to grow Christian Workplace Groups inside companies. The charity has been in existence since the year 2000 and now has 500 groups across the UK. Ros helped to pioneer this charity since 2003. Last year the ministry received a word that it is time to go international with the vision and it continues to grow.
In 2022 Ros left the traditional church to join her husband Ali in pursuing the vision of home church. That vision is Lighting Fires.
